Continuous service is the total amount of time that an employee has worked for their employer.
It includes leave that has been approved by the employer. It doesn’t include time off work that hasn’t been approved by the employer.
Does workers compensation count towards continuous service?
Yes, it counts when working out:
- service for redundancy pay
- service for notice of termination
- eligibility to make requests for flexible working arrangements
- eligibility for parental leave.
